Buddhism and Deep Ecology are separate schools of thought/religious teachings yet they have so much in common. This helps me better understand the truth behind everything being connected because religions, people, animals, plants, etc. all may feel so different yet we are all connected. Keeping these ideals in mind it becomes easier to want take care of the environment. Many people may feel disconnected from the earth when they follow teachings such as scientific ecology where they observe nature as being totally separate from us. When in fact we are part of the world and every choice we make will have ripples that extend beyond our lives.
