Animal Agriculture

In my Geography of Human-Environment Interactions I am researching the big players in the exceeding issues with climate change. One large contributor is the animal agriculture industry, specifically factory farming. Many negative impacts on the environment include deforestation, excessive water consumption, pollution from chemicals and animal waster, as well as the dangerous amounts of CO2 and methane released into the atmosphere. To combat this highly escalating problem people can try to eat a more plant based diet. Instead of eating a hamburger, swap it for a black bean burger or a soy substitute. And even if its still hard to kick meat all together it is best to buy meat locally because that way you aren't contributing to the factory farming industry as well as just getting better meat.
