Ecofeminism

As a feminist, Johnson acknowledges the world to be in a constant tension of division between feminine and masculine behaviors. There is an underlying matter-spirit dualism causing humans to understand the world through a lens that divides humans and their earthly responsibilities and expectations. The dualism determines femininity is to nature as masculinity is to spirit. Humans conceptualize women and nature to be alike, due to the fact that both have mother like qualities, like bearing fruit and providing nourishment to growing sources of life. This outlook can also set women back because they aren't seen and understood as strong or powerful. When in fact nature in itself has configured ecosystems and communities to support the world's population and sustain the life of every living creature on earth. Nature and women are superior, not just for their beauty, but because God created women as nature. Equipping both nature and women to serve and care for their home with great strides and excellence.
I think this an interesting outlook on religion and the world. She understands the world in a different context then the normal that really stands out to me. I think this is something I can relate to and get insite from the world from. She inspires me to continue to lift both women and nature up.
