GHGs

Greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) are gases that absorb and release thermal energy. This energy release causes the greenhouse effect that you would expect to see in a typical plant greenhouse, where the suns warmth gets trapped within and the atmosphere and in return the earth begins to warm up. It is normal for these emissions to be released as well as the earth to fluctuate in temperature but at such a high rate it becomes serious. The GHGs that are released from factory farms are human-induced because of the way the confined facilities are being operated. These facilities house thousands livestock that only further exacerbates the problem. In naturally occurring farms, such as grass-fed ranches, the gas emissions are fewer and less damaging to our atmosphere because of the rate that they are released. In factory farms or confined animal facilities the animals are in confined areas with poor nutrition and living conditions, which causes the emissions to be magnified.
