Idolizing Nature

From the chapter Idolizing Nature in From Nature to Creation, there is lots of discussion about the fact that in the modern era, people are not sure where they stand ecologically. I think it can be safe to say that many people live their lives oblivious to the fact that the nature around them is quickly deteriorating due to the impact we as humans have on the environment. Others notice the issue, but don’t really know how help fix the what we caused. The theology and philosophy of nature in the modern Christian belief is that although nature was created by God, it is now the job of the human race to sustain it and continue our Earth’s beauty.
I’m curious if others know where they stand; are you satisfied with what you do for the planet, and your relationship with it? Or do you find yourself wishing you could do more to help keep our planet healthy? Are you doing this for yourself or for God/a Higher Being?
