Landscapes and Nature
Can a human created landscape actually be considered nature or natural? In my opinion, no it cannot be because my view of nature is untouched by man. Basically no where in the world is true nature anymore. Humans have made themselves a part of every place in nature, and altered it to their benefit. From the trees and forests being deforested to the grasslands being burned to the wild animals being captured and domesticated, all of nature has been impacted by humans in some way or another. Is this something that could have been avoided or was this inevitably going to happen when humans first walked the earth? How could humans have avoided being so destructive to the natural habitats of the world?
Landscaping is such an unnatural concept to me because it is basically people saying that the natural look of land isn't beautiful enough for humans to enjoy. Humans create landscaped yards with fake grasses planted because they don't like the look of dead grass or not perfectly green grass. People plant gardens for the way they make their landscapes look, making them beautiful to the eye. But is "natural nature" not beautiful enough to just be left alone?
