Saint Augustine’s Confessions Book 1 sections 1 and 2


Augustine begins by saying that anyone searching for God will find him and praise him because how could they not? He also says that people need to hear about god first before they can know to look for him. Section two asks a lot of questions about God. One of the main questions asks what it means when Augustine asks god to come into him. Augustine quotes a scripture that says “all things find in you their origin, their impulse, center of their being.” From this quote Augustine finds the answer to his question.
