Saint Augustine’s Confessions book 1 sections 19 and and 20

In section 19 Augustine is thinking about some of his past sins in his childhood. He said that he lied, stole food from his parents, cheated, and was just vain overall. Augustine thinks that the sins of children are the same as the sins of adults. In section 20 Augustine has finally made it through his childhood. He says “thanks be to God who made sure that I was endowed with the faculties that would prevent me from simply dropping dead. Augustine finishes talking about his childhood. He admits that he had a nice and supported childhood. His primary sin was that, instead of searching for the truth in God, he looked for it else where on earth.
